The Portal supports the iCal standard

iCal is a standardised format for sharing calendar information between compliant systems. The Portal calendar system supports this standard, allowing you to see your Portal events in other applications. As of writing, the Portal only supports exporting calendars. It cannot import and display Calendar data from other systems.

Using your calendar in an iCal compatible application

Tip

Only the owner of a calendar can generate an iCal link for that calendar. If a calendar you wish to use does not have an iCal link, request that the owner generates one.

Tip

By default, events for the current day and up to 3 months into the future are provided. If an event starts are ends outside of these bounds, but runs through either, it will also be provided. The default limit of events per request is 100, but this can be changed by setting the `limit` GET variable.

Warning

Anyone with the iCal link to your calendar can view all the details of that calendar. However, they can't make any changes to it.

  1. From the main Calendar page, select one of your Calendars and open its settings page.
  2. From the calendar's settings page, click Sharing Settings.
  3. Copy the shareable iCal link.
